The Beretta PM12 sub machine gun was developed during the 1950s. It was first revealed in 1959. Letters PM in the designation stand for “Pistola Mitragliatice”, or machine pistol. In 1961 this weapon was adopted by Italian Army, special forces and law enforcement forces.
